Uzbekistan: A Country of Rich Culture and History

Uzbekistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia, bordered by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan.
It has a population of about 34 million people and covers an area of 447,400 square kilometers.
Uzbekistan is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse countries in the region, with more than 100 ethnic groups living in its territory.
The majority of the population are Uzbeks, who speak Uzbek, a Turkic language. Other ethnic groups include Russians, Tajiks, Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, and Tatars.

Uzbekistan is the only country in Central Asia that borders all the other four countries in the region.
It also has the longest borders with Afghanistan (137 km) and Turkmenistan (1,621 km).
Uzbekistan’s border with Kazakhstan is 2,203 km long, with Kyrgyzstan it is 1,099 km long, and with Tajikistan it is 1,161 km long.
Uzbekistan also has two enclaves within Kyrgyzstan, called Sokh and Shakhimardan, and one enclave within Tajikistan, called Sarvan.
These enclaves are small territories that belong to Uzbekistan but are surrounded by another country.
The borders of Uzbekistan were mostly drawn during the Soviet era, and have been a source of disputes and conflicts with its neighbors.
Some of the border issues include demarcation, security, trade, water resources, and ethnic minorities.
Climate in Uzbekistan:
Uzbekistan has a continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters.
The average temperature in July is 27°C, while in January it is -2°C.
However, the climate varies depending on the altitude and location.
The mountainous regions in the east have a cooler and wetter climate, while the lowlands in the west have a warmer and drier climate.
The Aral Sea, which used to be the fourth largest lake in the world, has been shrinking due to irrigation and climate change, affecting the ecology and economy of the region.
National Anthem of Uzbekistan
The national anthem of Uzbekistan is called “O’zbekiston Respublikasining Davlat Madhiyasi”, which means “The State Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
It was adopted in 1992, after Uzbekistan gained its independence from the Soviet Union.
The lyrics were written by Abdulla Oripov, a poet and politician, and the music was composed by Mutal Burhanov, a musician and composer.
The anthem praises the history, culture, and achievements of the Uzbek people, and expresses their aspirations for peace, freedom, and prosperity.

Uzbek:
Serquyosh hur o’lkam, elga baxt, najot, Sen o’zing do’stlarga yo’ldosh, mehribon! Yashnagay to abad ilmu fan, ijod, Shuhrating porlasin toki bor jahon!
Bag’ri keng o’zbekning o’chmas iymoni, Erkin, yosh avlodlar senga zo’r qanot! Istiqlol mash’ali, tinchlik posboni, Haqsevar, ona yurt, mard va namus!
English:
My sunny free land, happiness and salvation to your people, You are a warmhearted companion to your friends! Flourish forever with knowledge and invention, May your fame shine as long as the world exists!
The faith of an open-hearted Uzbek does not die out, The young free generation is a strong wing for you! The torch of independence, the guardian of peace, Just motherland, be eternally prosperous!
